Paul McCartney will play his first show at New York's Yankee Stadium on Friday, July 15. An Internet pre-sale for tickets begins this Friday, June 10, while the public on sale starts Monday, June 13 at 11 a.m. According to Sir Paul's website, the gig will serve as the kick off for his On The Run Tour, though no other dates have been announced.
On June 28, The Doobie Brothers Live At The Greek Theatre 1982 will be released on CD and DVD through Eagle Rock Entertainment. Billed as their "Farewell Tour," this live show was recorded on the final date of that tour in the band's hometown in Berkeley, CA. The concert included the surprise return of band co-founder Tom Johnston for the final two numbers, and during "Listen To The Music," original member John Hartman also joined the group as did former members Tiran Porter and Michael Hossack. It would prove to be the last onstage Doobie Brothers music for five years. The two-hour, 21-track DVD also includes five bonus songs cut from the original film of the event: "Little Darlin’ (I Need You)," "One Step Closer," "Dependin’ On You," "Real Love" and "No Stoppin’ Us Now," as well as interviews with the band and its manager.
