A woman in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has remained abreast of the situation of mothers who are harassed for nursing in public, and has come up with an idea to help them feel more comfortable when nursing. Jill Miller hopes to someday buy an ice cream truck and turn it into what she calls “The Milk Truck.”
Miller plans on affixing a giant breast to the top of the truck and use the vehicle to respond to calls made by mothers who feel uncomfortable while trying to breast feed in public places. When Miller and her Milk Truck arrive at the scene, she'll open an awning, lay down a rug, set up chairs and invite the nursing mom to feed their children in a comfortable atmosphere. Miller is trying to raise $10,000 in support of her idea through KickStarter.com. So far she's raised over $6,000.
