Metallica pulled out all the stops for their fourth and final 30th anniversary show at the Fillmore in San Francisco on Saturday night. In a move that was once thought impossible, the original lineup of James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Dave Mustaine and Ron McGovney played together for the first time since 1982. Mustaine joined Metallica on the final five songs of their set, all of which were drawn from his brief time with the band, including "Jump In The Fire," "Hit The Lights" and "Seek & Destroy." Moreover, Metallica brought out Ozzy Osbourne and Geezer Butler for a three-song Black Sabbath jam including "Sabbra Cadabra," "Iron Man" and "Paranoid." Bassist Jason Newsted also returned, as he had earlier in the week, for "King Nothing" and "Whiplash," and even producer Bob Rock was on hand for "Dirty Window" and "Frantic." Fans can download recordings of all the 30th anniversary shows at www.livemetallica.com Meanwhile, the band's special anniversary celebrations will continue this summer when their 2012 Summer European Vacation tour finds them playing "The Black Album" in its entirety to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its release.

Bruce Springsteen reportedly is putting the finishing touches on an album that he will release in the first months of the new year. "He's mastering it right now," his friend Bob Seger told Rolling Stone. "He's says it's really unusual and that it's the best thing that he's done in years." Springsteen and the E Street Band have already said they will embark on a world tour that will extend through most of 2012, starting with a two-month U.S. arena leg in early March. The U.S. dates will be followed by a European tour of festivals and stadiums that kicks off May 13 in Spain.
