A Willie Dixon blues song from 1961, this has been covered by John Hammond Jr. and Howlin' Wolf, among others. The Doors decided to cover this after their guitarist Robbie Krieger heard John Hammond Jr.'s version.
Following last week's announcement that Lady Gaga had given permission for "Weird Al" Yankovic to release a parody of "Born This Way" as "Perform This Way," the comedy legend has announced his new album. Almageddon will be out June 21 and feature "Perform This Way" as the lead single. I can't wait to see him again at the Cotillion. The fans were soooo out of control this last show. Thats what made it sooooo good!

Alice Cooper will play a concert as a hologram at London's Battersea Power Station on May 11. Dubbed The Jägermeister Ice Cold Event, it will make history as the U.K.’s first holographic 4D Rock gig. Featuring original band members Alice Cooper, Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith and Michael Bruce, plus Steve Hunter standing in for the late Glen Buxton, the event will be the first time the group has appeared together in the U.K. since 1972. "We couldn’t resist this," Cooper said. "Working with Jägermeister to appear as holograms on the other side of the Atlantic is the ultimate experience, a cutting-edge conjuring trick that celebrates the future and our history. We can’t wait to see the results." The show also will celebrate the release of the new Alice Cooper Box Set, OLD SCHOOL: 1964-1974.
Rave On Buddy Holly, a 19-song collection of Holly covers by an assemblage of musical kindred spirits, is due on June 28 via Fantasy/Concord Records in honor of Holly's 75th birthday. The album will feature Florence + The Machine covering "Not Fade Away," The Black Keys doing "Dearest," Modest Mouse taking on "That'll Be the Day" and Cee Lo Green singing "Baby, You're So Square." Paul McCartney also offers his take on "It's So Easy" and Lou Reed lays down a blazing "Peggy Sue."
Stevie Nicks, whose new CD In Your Dreams was released on Tuesday, was forced to cancel a handful of gigs on the east coast this week due to coming down with pneumonia and the flu. Her doctor informed her that she needed to "stay in bed and not fly" until she gets better. Nicks was scheduled to perform at New York's Webster Hall and Atlantic City's Borgata, as well as appearing on the Today Show and Good Day New York. "I want to apologize to all my fans and hope that we can reschedule," said Nicks, "and of course I hope you love the new album. It’s for you."
The new concert movie AC/DC: Live at the River Plate comes out Tuesday, May 10 on DVD and Blu-ray, and it documents the band's massive December 2009 shows in a Buenos Aires soccer stadium where they played to 200,000 rabid fans over three nights. It was AC/DC's first time playing in Argentina in 13 years, and the shows came as part of the band's 20-month Black Ice Tour. Despite the undertaking of doing such an epic tour in their 60s, the band members say it never gets old. In fact, they're ready to do it again.
