From ages 3-14, I lived right across the street from the neighborhood public swimming pool. I loved swimming with my friends but one thing I could never get past was jumping off the high diving board. The water seemed so far away when I stood up there that I actually turned around and walked back down the ladder, I couldn't do it. Of course I got over it eventually but not to this degree...check it out.
