I knew there was something up when Happy, our rescued Jack Russell-Dachsund mix was not at the back door demanding treats and a tummy rub for having been outside 15 minutes...I walked out into the backyard only to find him proudly displaying a poor, dead squirrel in his mouth. he was proud, I was appalled. Afterall, I have something of a squirrel collection...didn't he realize that stone squirrel he uses as a bathroom is meant to HONOR squirrels? It appears he sees them as rodents out to take over the world. My husband rushed home at my request, he and I have both seen what Happy does to his squeak toys, thus further carnage was averted. Nature can be cruel.
