This Bald Eagle is a juvenile female and will look differently when she is an adult. She was injured in Alaska (an earlier post erroneously named a different location) in an 80-foot fall from her nest. She is here because Eagle Valley Raptor Center and K-State's vet med department are nationally known for their success with such birds. If it turns out K-State says she cannot completely be restored to survive in the wild she will have a permanent home here and plans are to have her make appearances honoring the troops. Please help choose a name for her on the home page. You could win a "Love Birds" tour at EVRC. Give us a call and chime in about the name, too.
