I had the opportunity to spend part of Memorial Day Weekend at the 9/11 Memorial. Hundreds of people were there at the same time I was. We went through security, we waited in a long line and then were able to walk freely on the grounds. It was cold, windy and raining. One of the Memorial employees told us how honored she was to work there and how the experience had changed her life and given her purpose. Everyone visiting there, people from all over the world, were quiet, thoughtful and polite. Sure, it seems like that might be a no-brainer, but we've all been places and seen people act like idiots when the occasion called for some dignity. This is one time everyone showed respect.
