Looking back on it, I can imagine my parents going into the local record store in the fall of 1969 and saying to the clerk: "We have two boys 11 and 12 years old and they love rock and roll music, what would you suggest?"
How else could you explain Led Zeppelin II being under the tree that Christmas? Or it's predecessor being part of the soundtrack to our Summer that year?
Thanks to my parents, I've loved Led Zeppelin since the beginning. That's why I'm excited for June 3rd to arrive! Check out the story and watch the exclusive teaser clip:
Led Zeppelin has debuted a new teaser trailer promoting the upcoming deluxe reissue of the band's sophomore studio album, 1969's Led Zeppelin II. The minute-long video, which you can watch onLedZeppelin.com and the band's official YouTube channel, features a montage of images, including the revamped album's cover art and various archival photos that apparently appear in the booklet contained in the package.
Accompanying the clip is a segment of an alternate version of the Led Zeppelin classic "Whole Lotta Love," which is among the extra tracks featured on the "Companion Audio Disc" included in the deluxe edition of the remastered Led Zeppelin II. As previously reported, the bonus disc features alternate mixes of five songs from the original album, plus backing tracks for two additional songs, and an unreleased tune called "La La."
Led Zeppelin II is one of three of the band's albums, along with the rock legends' 1969 self-titled debut and 1970's Led Zeppelin III, that will be reissued in various configurations on June 3.
