I can't imagine the feelings going through the minds our troops and their leaders 70 years ago today...the waiting, the hope that this effort would turn the tide, the strong possibility they would die. The invasion marked the beginning of the end for Hitler's army, as General Eisenhower called for "nothing except full victory". Germany surrendered less than a year later. Thank you to Bob Rogers my old friend from church, to Sam Seminoff, and Firrest Adams all Kansans who were there.
