Turns out the man with the truck covered in Christmas lights has a philanthropy called One Spark. He calls the lights on his vehicle "The Lights of Love and Kindness". He hands out packets of cards that encourage people to do an act of kindness and then hand them one of the cards that tells the person who received your act of kindness to do the same for someone else. Check out his website: 1spark.net. Merry Christmas~Jan
We talked with attorney Chris Pate from Case, Moses, Zimmerman and Martin yesterday about the truck with all the Christmas lights. He looked up the ordinance for which the owner of the truck with all the Christmas lights was cited. Mr. Pate says, if he changed the lights to clear he probably would not be in violation. The idea is to prevent his vehicle from being mistaken for a police vehicle. I get not sticking a light bar or a strobe light on your car, but if someone mistakes this for a police vehicle better check him/her for DUI.
So, if you put non-blinking Christmas lights all over your vehicle at Christmas, and I do mean all over your vehicle, is anyone really going to mistake your truck for a cop car? Apparently so, according to the officer who wrote local Philanthropist, Dave Hill a tickets this past weekend. We will see what the lawyers from Case, Moses, ZImmerman and Martin have to say about it. Seems pretty harsh to me. People don't pull over for the real thing. I doubt they'd be inconvenienced by pulling over for this guy!
Each year I vow to get all my Christmas decorating, inside and out, done in one day. It never happens. I am on about the 9th hour of decorating...spread over several days... and I imagine I have about 4 more to do..not including any party giving stuff....Anybody get theirs done really quickly? Any good secrets gals or guys on getting the lights or the tree up and down? Email me at jharrison@1045thefox.

Props to all the great men who listen to the Fox. We had a story about a grocery store in NYC that was trying to attract male customers by creating an aisle stocked with what they think men most want to buy. Our Fox men called to say that men and women both shop for groceries now and they don't need a man aisle...they shop for just about everything a woman does. One guy said he is about as manly as it gets, but he and Sweetie shop for groceries together. if you have an opinion on this either way...please email me at jharrison@1045thefox.
So, I love to decorate for every holiday and my husband more or less just puts up with it. Not his thing. I like to start early because if we are going to haul ten boxes and two trees down from the attic, I want them up for awhile and for me Christmas is over by New Year's Eve. So I am guessing that those who are critical of people who put up their lights on the Friday after Thanksgiving don't put up as much. How many boxes of stuff do you put up? Email me at email@example.com
AMC's hit zombie drama "The Walking Dead" is not known for its comedic elements but every now and again, funny things happen, intentional or otherwise. The jury is still out on whether AMC purposely aired a KFC endorsement and commercial immediately after a rather gruesome scene on Sunday's episode. In case you missed it, a swarm of ravenous zombies ripped open a man and feasted on him allowing Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the gang to escape unnoticed. Here's how it looked:

Meet Jasper, an amazing canine success story. Jasper is an English dachshund that was suffering with a spinal injury and unable to use his back legs. His owners volunteered him for a trial at Cambridge University to see whether cells from a dog's nose can improve the nerve connections in its spine. Doctors found that the olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs) support nerve fiber growth connecting the nose to the brain and also regenerate nerve fibers in damaged spinal cords. After six months of walking on a treadmill, Jasper's owners say he now "whizzes around the house." Researchers hope that this might lead to advancement toward a cure for human spinal-cord injuries
Phil and I were very pleased to hear from Pat Morriss at LAPP that donations are still coming in as the result of our "Campout for the Critters" Nov. 8 and 9. The animals at LAPP are fantastic potential companions for anyone who could use a friend. We feel so happy that we could shine a little light on LAPP. Thank you everyone who supported us in our efforts in any way! We love you!
