Legendary Penn State football coach Joe Paternon died over the weekend. He was 85. All over my facebook page, I have seen the people that wanted to honor him and those that didn't care that he had passed since he was was intertwined in the Penn State child scandal. I do think he made a huge unforgivable mistake in not reporting the incident in a timely manner and that it could have prevented future incidents, but I wrestle with the fact that we also shouldn't ignore his amazing contributions on the football field. It will be interesting to see how the school, Penn State University, handles his passing and their handling of his legacy.
