This week marks the 40th anniversary of the band KISS. I've been a fan of KISS as long as I can remember when I was a little boy. I was intrigued by their make up and their 'presence'. I didn't get into their music until as a teenager. My favorite from the group, was drummer Peter Criss, 'Cat Man'. Two years in a row, I painted my face like Cat Man for Halloween. When I started to appreciate music, my favorite songs were 'Rock N Roll All Night' and 'Beth' and 'I Was Made For Loving You'. About 10 years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Gene Simmons. KISS had come out with perfume and cologne and Gene was visited the city I was working in at the time. I got to interview him and also introduced him on stage at the event. There were thousands of people in line to meet him. I was also a fan of the Gene Simmons show 'Family Jewels'. Also about 10 years ago, I finally saw a KISS concert. The concert was in New Orleans. It was everything I expected and I had a great time.
