Kansas schools get funding for breakfast

The Kansas Department of Education is using grant money to help 42 school provide students with better access to breakfast.

The Share Our Strength No Kid Hungry campaign and Midwest Dairy Council provided $142, 519 to help schools across Kansas. The money helps provide unique solutions to get kids breakfast, which has shown to boost performance at school. Options include delivering breakfast right to classrooms, or giving kids a grab and go choice in the morning.

Derby High School, Holy Savior Catholic Academy, Andale High School, North High , and Winfield’s middle and high school are just a few locations in the Wichita area that getting help with breakfast programs. The listed schools received $3,000 to $5,000 to help fund their breakfast programs.
