Rain and storms dropped almost three quarters of an inch of rain on Wichita overnight into Wednesday morning. Eisenhower National Airport measured 0.7 inches between around midnight and 6 a.m.

The heaviest rain for the morning has moved off to the north, but more rain and rumbles of thunder are expected later in the day. Showers in Oklahoma are moving to the north, and off and on rain is expected between noon Wednesday and midnight. Drivers heading out of Wichita are encouraged to leave earlier in the day, if possible, to avoid slowdowns caused by weather or heavy traffic.

Rain across the Midwest and snowstorms in the Rocky Mountains could cause issues Wednesday, as one of the few busiest travel days of the year. As of 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, no flights in or out of Wichita’s Eisenhower National Airport have been canceled or delayed. You can check up-to-date flight status by clicking here.

FlightAware reported 184 delays and 9 cancellations as of 8:20 a.m.
