A former physical education teacher in the Haysville School District has been sentenced for an incident involving sexual contact with a male student.
36-year-old Shari Herrs of Andover had entered a guilty plea to attempted unlawful sexual relations. She was sentenced Wednesday to 24 months of probation with an underlying sentence of 13 months. If she violates probation, she could receive the 13-month sentence.
Herrs was accused of a crime involving an 18-year-old student at Campus High School in April, 2018. Herrs has registered as a sex offender and has voluntarily surrendered her teaching license.
