Charges filed in disappearance and murder of a Wichita woman

The Kansas Attorney General’s Office says a Wichita man has been charged with first degree murder for the disappearance and death of a Sedgwick County woman last spring.

Criminal charges were filed against 48-year-old Robert Bruce Mans, Jr, who was arrested Thursday in Wichita.  The charges were filed in Marion County District Court and Mans is being held in the Marion County jail.   The Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting the case.

Mans is charged in the death of 27-year-old Shalan Niccole Gannon of Wichita.   She was reported missing on April 11th and her body was found in June in the Ninnescah River in northern Sumner County.   Investigators believe that Gannon was murdered on or about April 8th.
