Harvey County health officials have confirmed a cluster of COVID-19 cases at the AGCO Corporation plant in Hesston.
There were 23 confirmed cases in Plant 1 of the facility, and the affected employees are isolating at home. All remaining employees at the plant will be tested.
AGCO Hesston site leader Seth Beytien said in a press release that the company will follow guidance from the health department to prevent further spread of the virus. AGCO suspended operations at Plant 1 at the end of the first shift on Tuesday. The company has taken several precautionary steps that include routine daily disinfecting, temperature scanning and the placement of dividers in workplaces and break areas. Employees have been required to wear face masks in all areas of the facility.
