Sedgwick County Republicans have voted to approve their former chairman as an interim county commissioner.
Dalton Glasscock recently completed his term as county GOP chairman, and he will now serve as the District 2 county commissioner. He takes over for Michael O’Donnell, who resigned after an investigation into a false political attack ad from last year.
Glasscock was elected by precinct committee members at a special convention Monday evening, and he will serve until January 11th. At that time, Democrat Sarah Lopez will be sworn in for the District 2 seat. She was elected to the seat in the November 3rd general election.
