Wichita’s Police Chief, Gordon Ramsay, has applied for a Chief of Police position in Austin, Texas.
The city has not made any decisions yet, but should have the candidate field narrowed down by late July or early August.
Chief Ramsay put out the following statement:
“I am very happy living and working in Wichita, and this community has been very good to my family and me. We have accomplished a lot together over the last five and a half years, and the decision to apply for this position was difficult, as I love Wichita, the WPD staff, and this community.“
Before moving to Wichita in 2016, Ramsay served as the police chief of Duluth, Minnesota for close to 10 years.
