The Museum of World Treasures in Wichita has announced that one of its founders has died after a decline in health over the past few years.  Dr. Jon Kardatzke was 85.

Dr. Kardatzke and his wife Lorna founded the Museum of Ancient Treasures in the Garvey Center in downtown Wichita in 2001.   The museum moved two years later to a location in Old Town and it was renamed the Museum of World Treasures.   He also co-founded West Wichita Family Physicians and practiced medicine for over 35 years.  The Museum has had over 750,000 visitors and has housed more than 9,000 artifacts from over 250 collectors.

The Museum will offer free admission on Saturday, March 5th and Sunday, March 6th for people wishing to visit and pay their respects.  A “Memory Wall” exhibit will display photos and memories of “Dr. Jon.”
