The 6th annual Veterans Awareness Expo will be held in Wichita Saturday, August 6th, and it will feature booths and information from more than 60 local agencies and groups that provide services to local veterans.

Howard Hutchison with the Veteran Providers Coalition of Sedgwick County said the theme of this year’s event is to honor Medal of Honor winner Erwin Bleckley, a native of Wichita who flew a combat mission in World War I.   A DH-4 aircraft identical to the one flown by Bleckley is being restored in Wichita for a living memorial.

The Expo will have booths, exhibits, food trucks and displays from Kansas Honor Flight, the Dole VA Medical Center, the Wichita Vet Center and other agencies.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mid-America All Indian Museum.   Parking will be available in a lot to the west of the museum with shuttle service to take people to the Museum.
